The seneye device is an optical sensor therefore it has a few areas that need maintenance to keep it in perfect working order.

Bacteria and algae build up can be a main issue with seneye so keeping it clean is very important. Excessive dirt will impede water through the device which will make pH slow to react.

How to clean your seneye device?

    1. Take the device out of the water and remove the back of the device.
    2. Remove the seneye slide. Place your slide in the water that you are monitoring, if it dries up this can also effect readings.
    3. Wipe the clear light window and sensor lenses with your finger and rinse off under water. These windows are made of optical grade acrylic so they are very smooth, meaning that algae and bacteria don't like to stick, and care should be taken not to scratch the acrylic.

However, if the windows are very dirty you can use a toothbrush.

The marine environment is a very harsh place and this can lead to extra issues such as coraline algae build up.

We have seneye cleaner for devices that have been in your aquarium for a long time
